Nexus 4 for sale
Well, let's see...it's a Nexus 4, or if you want its government name an LG-E960. This one is the 16GB model, with CyanogenMod 11 M10 as the installed operating system. Has spent its life so far as a T-Mobile phone. Recently replaced the screen protector and the battery, new Onite brand 2100 mAh cell manufactured in 2014, so battery life is in line with the first few months of life for a Nexus 4 instead of being two years old. Will come with a 2A wall charger and six foot micro USB cable.
Damage description
The glass plate on the back has some spider cracking, but is covered with a plastic shield that limits any risk of cracks spreading. This damage is cosmetic, and does not impact the function of any wireless antennas or NFC communications. I think it looks kindof cool.

JR, please upload a "verification photo" showing your listing code (PVY041) on paper with the device (screen on), and another with included accessories. See examples and criteria here before posting: http://swappa.com/faq/verification-photos
Please comment here when you've uploaded so we can approve the listing. Thank you.
New to this site. I need to use this with AT&T, and would like to know the IMEI so that I can check with AT&T. I also want to confirm before buying that it is flashed with Cyanogenmod 11.
Oh, I see the Cyanogenmod ID in the photo. That answers one question!
Sellers should not share ESN / MEID / IMEI numbers, so please don't ask them to. This FAQ page explains why: http://swappa.com/faq/sell/share_esn_numbers
OK, fine one the IMEI. One more question about the photo. It's hard to gauge the condition on the back side. Looks like some serious scratches and even a crack, or is it just the lighting? Is a better photo available?
Oh, one more question: is there any reason that I might not be able to activate with AT&T? Just need assurance before purchase.
Paul, thank you for weighing in. I had some reservations about the request to share the IMEI number, site policy reinforces those.
Bill, two thoughts. I'm glad the screen photo validated the running software configuration, I've been a CyanogenMod guy basically since the CM4.X days on the HTC G1. It's on every Android I own, that's for sure. I don't feel comfortable sharing the IMEI number in advance of selling the phone because of the risk of that number being cloned or otherwise used in ways that would impact the security of my device. I do want to work with you, or anyone else, to validate in advance that my phone will work in your use case, including network carrier compatibility. I don't have an extensive technical understanding of what influences compatibility beyond hardware radio bands and cellular network standards, so communication will be helpful. I was under the impression that all Nexus 4s would operate on either T-Mobile or AT&T as US-based GSM carriers.
Condition: the back plate of the phone has cosmetic damage, spider cracking as noted in the item listing condition section. There is a shield cover applied to the back, much like the screen cover on the front, that prevents those cracks from spreading. None of the antennas (cellular, wifi / bluetooth, or NFC) have been affected by this cracking. I can indeed take some other close up images at additional angles of the back of the phone if those would be valuable in making an informed decision.
Thanks, JR, it is also my understanding that all Nexus 4s operate on either carrier. Just checking my sanity, and provided I have your assurance that you will take it back if AT&T cannot provide service for me, then I'll take it.
Sorry to be so painstakingly cautious. I'm coming off of two consecutive bad experiences on eBay with one stolen and one encumbered phone, and I'm weary and wary.
So, deal?
Hi Bill. That sounds like a deal, and I can take some steps at my end to be more sure this is going to work. I feel much like you do, that internet auction transactions can really go badly, and have not much safety net under most circumstances. What you call painstakingly cautious I call appropriately thorough. What I propose is I find a friend, likely a coworker, with an AT&T microSIM card. I trade said card into my Nexus 4, make sure the APN list is pointing to AT&T addresses, and see if cellular calls and mobile data work as expected. It'll take me an extra day or two to complete the test, but we will know with a better degree of advance certainty that we aren't lining you up for another bad online experience.
Yes, it seems reasonable to have a return clause based on the phone operating at your end. I propose my test as a supplement, not a replacement, for said clause.
That's very generous. You don't need to go through all that trouble. But since the return process would be a hassle for you as well, I can understand why you might want to anyway. Your option. I will click buy and push the transaction through on my end and await your advice.
Phone arrived, looks good and seems to work well. I will try with carrier next week. Thanks for all your help.
Good to hear, Bill. I included a stick pin in the shipping box as an effective substitute microSIM ejection tool for you to use, in case you were wondering what the point of that object was. Pun intended.
Oh, so that's where that pin I found on my floor came from! Yes, I got the point. SIM from the other phone went in easily - I just swapped trays.
I've been using the phone for a few days and it works just fine. Thanks again for your help. Now that the transition is complete, I'm ready to try loading Cyanogenmod onto the Nexus 4 I have been using until now. Then I have two more to convert.
