The battery life appears to be quite good. Idle it lasts for a long time, when in use it appears to have about 7-8 hours before it gets to around 10%.

There's no iCloud lock, I disabled it before I wiped it. If you'd like, I can post some more pictures of the device in it's currently formatted form.
