Frank, please ensure you are providing the ESN / IMEI / MEID of the device, and not from a box that belonged to a previous device. An ESN check with Apple reports "We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced." This usually indicates the device was on the wrong end of an insurance replacement.

Hi Prateek,
I noticed the same thing when running an online check however the IMEI provided is the IMEI of the actual device. I confirmed with Apple and several GSM carriers (I personally called customer service) that the phone is not blacklisted, has no issues and can be activated.
