How were you able to perform the root with this 900v? What did you use...tr is no longer working for this version. Can you tell em what you used please?

This was rooted with towelroot before taking any OTA upgrades.

Hi Mike. I've been reading about the TR and ROM and I was curious what version of the OS is the ROM currently using? Since TR isn't being upgraded again, will this impact the ability to get newer versions of that OS as it gets released? Would you be able to wipe it and give it a clean slate before selling?

Thanks.

Hi Barco,
The phone had no taken any OTA upgrades before being rooted, and now that it is rooted you should not take any new OTA upgrades from Verizon if running on the stock rom (to the best of my knowledge). I have a backup of the stock ROM (that is rooted) and would gladly flash it back to stock if you prefer, and this will not prohibit you from using the phone as intended with safestrap intact, etc. You are able to flash any custom rom you want and upgrade those as needed without any issue at all.

Good Morning Mike, happy new year. I am very interested in the phone, I just sold my rooted s5 and got a note 4 but I should not have done that. I just have a few questions, how old is the device? Is the root set up where if I do a factory reset I will lose the root and TW? Can you add Wanam if it is not already there? And if this is not already in the root or debloat of the device, can you add the factory mobile hotspot and the download booster to be unlocked? And would you be willing to send the stock file in case there are any issues with the phone at a later date and it needs to be flashed back to stock? Thanks I am not that tech savy, my friend rooted my last s5 for me but I really miss it in the note 4 and want to go back. Thanks for your time and patience with these questions.

Hi Chris,
I have owned the phone for about 1 month, I needed it to replace my LG G3 while it was being returned for warranty service/replacement. The previous owner had it about 6 months I believe. Wanam is available in the Play Store and can be added to almost any custom ROM, Eclipse is one of them. I can add that on there if you'd like. The hotspot is enabled. Download Booster is a feature built into the stock ROM, I do not know of this feature being in other custom ROMS.

I do have the stock ROM backed up, and will gladly upload it to Drive or Dropbox and send it over. It is also stored on the phone already for an easy return to stock. I can return it to stock (rooted) before sending it if you want your friend to mess with it and find a ROM you like. If you do a factory reset in any of the custom ROMS, it will not lose root, just the personal data. On the stock ROM, I have factory reset it twice without losing root safestrap recovery.
